Guest Strip by John Norton of “George” Comics

Guest Strip by John Norton of “George” Comics

I became a fan of John Norton after seeing his MySpace page last year. His style is crazy and I love the expressions he gives his characters.

When I started doing the ADDANAC CITY webcomic, I was looking for some good comics to read and I ran into GEORGE again. This comic is hilarious and it’s just plain fun to read. Go check it out and tell John that Big George sent ya!

Plus, you know I gotta love any comic strip that shares my name. :)

GEORGE by John Norton

NEWS ITEM: Oh, just because it’s Friday doesn’t mean that I don’t have more guest-strip goodness for you. Saturday and Sunday will feature AC comics by yours truly, but we’ve got some more guest-appearances coming up Monday.

Monday’s guest strip is created by none other than the webcomic warrior-princess herself, Dawn Griffin of Zorphbert and Fred fame! Stay tuned!

Daayyuuumm, that Norton guy is CRAZY TALENTED, dawg!

  2. bearman says:

Michelle I am jealous of her coloring…you I am jealous of your line work. Please…all your people…quit setting the bar so damn high.

How do you think I feel. After the great job you guys are doing, I feel incapable of returning with stuff anywhere near as high-quality as what y'all are putting out.

Now I gotta break out my Bob Ross VHS cassettes and start studying again.

  3. John says:

    Thanks, bearman!

Happy little trees will definitely get you where you need to be. That, and one huge-ass afro!

  4. [...] for George Ford’s comic, “Addanc City,” and it’s up today! Head on over to the Addanac City website to check it out! I want to thank George for giving me the opportunity to do a guest comic for him. [...]

Awesome work, John. Once again, I wish I could color like that!

  6. John k says:

I agree with what others have said about the color, especially in the right side background!

  7. Michelle says:

I like the colors of this strip, and I enjoy how George stuck to his style. I have a question, not about this guest strip, but we are you posting Dawn's strip Monday, instead of tomorrow? Posting her strip tomorrow will be a great way to wrap up the guest strip week.

  8. Michelle says:

Ugh! There goes a typo. The question is WHY are you posting Dawn's strip Monday, instead of tomorrow?

    • GeorgeFord says:

Well, because I've got five more Guest Strips scheduled, M, and it would be neater to have them all featured M-F of next week right before my double-sized 4th of July Extravaganza.

The comic-creating crew came out so Guest Week turns into Guest Weeks(?). I've got stuff from Matt Stout, Nate Fakes, John Jenkins and more set for next week. Stay tuned. :D

I've had a couple more people ask about doing guest-comics, so I may be able to retire to that little cabana in Tahiti now, never having to draw Hank again. :D

Nah, there's no way I can stay away from the tiny terror. :)

Plus, the weekends are my slowest days, so I figured I'd showcase everyone's work on the weekdays where they'd get stronger exposure here.

  9. Careful … it looks like Hank is still locked and loaded – Ye could yet be green! Another great strip! :)

  10. John says:

Sweet holy molasses, you guys make me blush! With all this positive feedback I'm getting, I may have to spend MORE of my time doing AC guest comics ;)

    • GeorgeFord says:

Great idea, John! Then I could enjoy another martini. You know what they say: "Friends don't let friends draw drunk."

      #$&@!! Daggone bottle's empty again!!

  11. womaninblack says:

I would send you a guest comic, but it might crash your site because it would be so damn good. Did I say 'good'? I meant 'appalling'.
I can make you some Yorkshire puddings and some roast beef, though – interested?

    • GeorgeFord says:

Heck yeah! I've never had Yorskshire pudding, but I'm willing to go international with my flavors. :)

Maybe you can do a guest-blog for me, 'cause my witty tirades are downright deplorable.

  12. jynksie says:

HAH! Hilarious!! These have all been great!! Mr. Norton, you've outdone yerself!
