Guest Strip by John Jenkins of “Joe’s Heebie Jeebies”

Guest Strip by John Jenkins of “Joe’s Heebie Jeebies”

I met John Jenkins thru the posts on webcomics.com . He and I are cartoonists from opposite sides of the “pond”. John hails from England, and he writes and illustrates one of the quirkiest webcomics that I’ve had the pleasure of coming across.

I felt that his style would be ideal for Hank and the gang, so I requested that he contribute a guest strip. I think he did an outstanding job. After commenting this strip, go check out John’s own Joe’s Heebie Jeebies for more wacky fun.

John did a nice job with your characters. Excellent work, John.

  2. Suldog says:

I like the homage to Schulz in the last panel :-)

  3. bearman says:

Suldog…I missed that. Nice catch. Great job JOhn.

  4. natefakes says:

Nicely done, John! Funny. And yes, I too like the lamp in the last panel

  5. John K says:

That lamp is brilliant… heck I liked the whole thing!

    • GeorgeFord says:

Yeah, I never would've thought of that lamp in a million years. I wonder if John planted any other subliminal messages in his strip? Hmm….

  6. Dave says:

I like how a smile breaks out on Mr. A's face in the third panel, only to be let down in the end.

  7. John says:

Hello everyone. I've been so busy with 'Joe's Heebie Jeebies' the past few days that I haven't had a chance to get on here (or any of my other favourite webcomic sites). And believe it or not, I'd completely forgotten about my guest strip – old age doesn't come alone.

My goodness. I'm so touched by all of your lovely comments. I'm glad you liked it, especially the Charles Schulz (my hero) homage. There aren't any other subliminal messages, George, honest! I wish I'd thought of it. I could have got all your readers over at my site with a slyly hidden 'Read Joe's Heebie Jeebies' couldn't I? Thank you again, everyone. And an especially big thank you to George for inviting me in the first place. Now if I can only get my own strip up to scratch. *sigh*

  8. great job john!

i second, or fifth, the lamp comment!

  9. Love the Charlie Brown lampshade… ( That would be sixth-ing the orginal comment or so…)

Its good Hank has ambitions… LOL

    • GeorgeFord says:

Hank's quite ambitious. I believe his heroes are Bernie Madoff, Jack Addanac, and maybe Oprah (because of her bank account and wordlwide domination). :D

The sky's the limit. Why end up a criminal when that's just the starting point? I once overheard one girl, perhaps 7 or 8 years old, telling another "let's play we are thieves" to which the other answered "okay, but we have to be good". I slowed down to hear more, waiting to see what her concept of "good" was and was surprised to hear her explain herself. "Yes," she said. "Good thieves, you know, professionals!"

That was several years ago, so by now perhaps they can give Hank career advice.

Dooooode…. who's this Jenkins guy? What he be doin w/ my Dads name?!? LOL … whats even scarier, is I have a cousin John too and his brothers name is Joe. It's all freaky man!

Guest comics have been great! I could've used one this week after my computer up and died!

    • GeorgeFord says:

Man, I wish I hadda known. Since all of the great folks in webcomics were kind enough to bless me with guest strips, I hope they don't mind if I return the favor on their respective sites soon. :)
