I ran into Nate Fakes on MySpace. His work really impressed me and I quickly became a fan of The Man From MAD.
Nate’s a hard worker and an all-around nice guy. I emailed him just to let him know how much I dug his work, and he actually responded back. Nate knows a lot about this craft and industry, but he’s not a know-it-all kinda guy. For as much knowledge and experience he possesses, he also hs a desire to learn. He wants to get better at this and he’s sort of an inspiration to me to not give up, run to Mickey D’s, and call it a day.
So, when I asked Nate to design a guest-strip for me, he didn’t even hesitate (or delete my email). In only a couple of days, I received this ditty done in the classic Frustrated Cartoonist black-and-white style.
I hope you all like what Nate came up with. If you do, check out The Frustrated Cartoonist and show some love there. I’m sure Nate will be glad to see you.
TOMORROW’S GUEST STRIP by: Matt Stout of “Big Sandy Gilmore”

You know a woman is hot when she looks good in text! Great job Nate.
I just wanna see what the picture looked like.
LOL, that or the person who sent the text is very talented in old school text-based graphics. I lopved the strip too.
I used to see some phenomenal text-based graphics. I wondered who had the time and drive to create that sorta stuff.
Nice! I love Nate's strip and artwork.
Nate always does a professional job! I'm grateful to him and all of you guys and gals.
I had exactly one friend whose mom was hot… but sh was REALLY hot. Great Strip Nate!!!
I would hate to be that guy who had the hot mom. I know it must suck.
My kids have a hot mom… wait. That sounded better in my head.
You lucky, lucky man.
Wow. Thank you guys for the kind words! I enjoyed drawing this one. Let me know if anyone got that text with Hanks mom in it. I'd like to check it out for myself!
I haven't seen the text, but I believe that the video Hank's parents made from Michelle's guest-strip was posted on YouTube.
I got something in my inbox that said click here for a pic of Mrs A washing her car….now I have spam on my computer.
Spam? I wouldn't consider it Spam unless Mrs A also said in the message that she had an account in India with millions of dollars – all in your name.
I think I would actually give Hank's mom my bank account number. She makes even a turtleneck look provocative.
Turtle neck or a Speedo!
I'd like to see her in just some diamond eearrings and an ankle bracelet. :p
I thought that a pic of Mrs. A would end up giving you a Treet.
Great work, Nate! And, oh how times have changed! Seems like when I was in school the most advanced technology available to kids was rocks and pointy sticks!
Yeah, when I was a kid, having a crappy walkie-talkie was a big deal.
You really get that old school feel from your work Nate..
I like that. Great Job..
Nate's da man!
Lol! Mrs. Addanac is seemingly a "Sexy Goddess!" Where's that pinup again? :p
Before I retire, Mrs. Addanac WILL BE the hottest comic strip mom in the bizness. <3
Very good,Nate…funny and timely!
Nate gave it that old-fashioned feel while updating things with the current technology. Indeed, a good job!
Nice work Nate! Love your lettering style!
You're right, Dave! Nate's a fantastic letterer. I never took note before. Good eye!
Thanks again everyone! I appreciate all your thoughts on my work
We appreciate you sharing your work with us, Nate!
Oh how I have missed my Hankie Poo! I love the strip from Nate…cool beans! Hank's mom is a bombshell! lol!
Hey, Gabie! We've missed seeing you in Addanac City! Thanks for dropping by.
I didn't recognize Nate's style in this. My bad!
Interesting to see his take on your characters…
I love the different interpretations of Hank and Tim. We need to get some spice from Terence N. Tijuana up in here.
Further proof that Nate is overworked and underpaid!!
So that's why Nate's so Frustrated!

I'm a bit late to this party, but just wanted to say I got a real kick out of seeing George's characters drawn in Nate's style. Very fun results
I loved seeing Nate's version of my stuff. It's always refreshing to view another artist's perception. Now we gotta see if I can do justice to their work. Whoo-hoo! The pressure!
Thanks, Chris (and everyone else – again!)
I'm just leaving this last comment so I can tie with Bearman for "Top 5 Blog Post"
Oooooooh…..
…..and I'm leaving this one to beat him! Lol
Hahahahaha! What'cha gon' do, Bearman? Nate's callin' you out! Hee-hee….I was wondering why my Top 5 was switching up.
Well gee, George. With your comments as well, I might hit number one on "Top 5" Lol. Heck. Let me reply to this! Lol
I think this should just about do it
Yippee!
I think you're takin' advantage of my inability to leave comments uncommented.
I wonder if Bearman has realized what's goin' on yet.
Bearman? You out there?
I don't think he has a clue! He's getting blown out of the water on his "Top 5" spot! This post is slowly starting to replace the sales of Michael Jackson albums in the "Top 5" spot of the charts. Lol
Y'know, if you Google "Top 5", this post is in the Top 20.
I know it's got to be up there a ways. We're shooting for number one on Google.
