Lizz Robbins and I met while we were both attending Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA back in the early 90′s. I was the nerdy art student who didn’t know which way was up. She was the vivacious, friendly, and smart as heck cheerleader who helped me out tremendously with some difficult classes.
Even though we appeared to come from two different worlds, we swiftly became great friends. Lizz was (and is) one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. She always had a kind word and she was eager to help you when your back was against the wall. I don’t know how I would have graduated if she hadn’t pushed, cajoled, and motivated me to be the best I could be.
Fifteen years after I graduated from college, I ran into Lizz again. She had blossomed into an upwardly mobile model and actress with a quite-impressive resume. Regardless of how far she’s come, she was still as warm, funny, and friendly as the day I met her.
She was gracious enough to take time out of her hectic schedule to co-star in today’s ADDANAC CITY comic strip and answer a few of my stumbling fanboy questions:
GEORGE FORD: Lizz, you graduated from Virginia State University with a degree in English/Mass Communications. How did you get involved in modeling and acting?
LIZZ ROBBINS: I started modeling at age 5 and acting in high school, but really didn’t start pursuing it seriously until after high school.
GEORGE: I’ve had the pleasure of viewing your appearance on “America’s Most Wanted” in a case re-enactment. What are some of your other film/TV credits?
LIZZ: The Wire, The West Wing, Head of State and just recently filmed a Fantasy Football commerical for Dimesport.com
GEORGE: What other projects do you have in the works now? What can we expect to see next from the astounding and talented Lizz Robbins?
LIZZ: I write for BleacherReport.com and I also write for DaLockerRoom.com and I will be continuing Robbins Nest from KingMagazine online on my website very soon. I have a few other things working, keep checking my website.
GEORGE: Wow! It sounds like you have a full plate these days. You’ve certainly been keeping busy. One thing that has always impressed me about you, however, is the fact that no matter how beautiful you are or how successful you’ve become, you still manage to stay grounded. With images of you all over the internet, television, silver screen, andcovers of magazines, how do you keep your fame from going to your head?
LIZZ: Gosh, George you are so kind…. I would have to thank God and my parents and family for that. I am so grateful for them.
GEORGE: How does it feel seeing yourself portrayed as an ADDANAC CITY comic strip character? Do you think you could put up with a kid like Hank in real-life? (laughs)
LIZZ: This is awesome…. I read your strip and I am so proud! I would have to spend a little one on one with Hank and get him straight.. Then again, that may take years! LOL! Continued success to you and I look forward to keeping up with Addanac City!
GEORGE: Well, thank you so much for taking to the time to speak with me and my fans. I’m sure they appreciate this little change of pace, and I’ll make sure that they go visit you on your official website and also on your MySpace page!

Thanks, Hon! I'm sure Lizz appreciates the support of another female who's going places, too.
I showed this strip and blog to my wife last week and already did my two nights on the couch. We cool now.
Nah, my wife knows that Lizz and I go way back and we're just really good friends.
Hank may have made a cameo appearance just preparing for his eventual debut.
Awesome comic and interview! Wow. I think that's the first time a model has made a cameo in a comic strip with her permission! Good work!
I hope she has plenty of advice to offer Hank for his future television endeavors on America's Most Wanted.
Such high aspirations for such a lowlife.
It's important for young people to have goals set. Something to shoot for as they get older..
LOL
Thanks, Nate! I believe it's a first, too. I try to keep AC diverse and interesting whenever I can. I love guest-appearances and cameos. That's one of the things that thrilled me with comic books. Plus, I figure you guys would rather read about a luscious model then about the dude who invented Mylar bags or something.
Thanks, Gabie! I've missed seeing you around this way. I try to keep the flava in AC so you'll keep coming back.
Ah, and there lies the rub. But, seriously, she portrayed the girlfriend of the victim I believe. She was lucky to make it thru. It was a very exciting scene. I was all ducking and screaming at the TV for her to get away. Hahahaha!
I can't leave you guys behind. I've got my haterz to keep me grounded.
I believe Mrs. Addanac would love to just get a peek at Lizz's luxurious wardrobe. She'll have to take notes.
Hank just wants to be the best thug he can be.
AMW will be a good look for Hank when he gets caught for his own ponzi scheme and tries to flee the country.
Thanks, YNB! Hopefully, Hank can learn the error of his ways before puberty sets in.
Hmmm … Hank = America's Most wanted and hanging out with models … I = drunk / belligerent / shirtless dude on Cops and hanging out with my cat! :S
Hank's jealous! He has aspirations of being on Cops, too.
Yeah, you're right. I'm lucky that I'm a lowdown guy with friends in high places.
Lizz is a complete sweetheart to allow for me to include her in today's strip.
This may be the first time I've seen a celebrity cameo in a comic. Very cool! Nice interview too!
Thanks, David! I was very lucky that Lizz agreed to it. I hope everyone enjoyed her appearance and went to check her out on her site.
