Born To Be Free

Born To Be Free

Here it is, Dear Reader, the moment many of you have been waiting for. I established a poll a couple of weeks ago to see whether the majority of you wanted Jack to go free from prison or if you wanted him to receive the maximum penalty for his prior actions.

Well, you have spoken. The results came back in Jack’s favor. And since I aim to please, let’s give ol’ Jack a lil’ breathing room and let him test his mettle in the free world for a while.

It’s not gonna be easy for Jack out there. He’s gonna have the long-arm-of-the-law on his tail, plus Calethia wants his head on an iron spike (or something like that). What’s a delusional man to do? I trust you’ll keep following along to see what’s gonna happen in ADDANAC CITY next!

I couldn’t decide which song I wanted to showcase for today, so I’ve chosen two tunes that I consider apt for today’s strip. Enjoy!

If you’re new to this storyline, start here and work your way forward.

Guy is lucky for his family to have his back like that. Poor innocent Bro tho. lol

Either way the poor dude's got a life sentence. Good luck!

Hey, good work as usual, but I have an ultimate idea for this site -a favicon!

Also, maybe a new logo? The banner itself is good, I just reckon the logo could matchg the comic better! Just advice :)

Good! My vote won! But yeah, he's looking at hard time after this! In fact – they ALL are! I hope they have good alibi's.

Love the song picks for this one! Playing them both while reading it really makes it feel like watching a movie! Lol :)

Glad your vote won, Nate! Mine did, too. :) I listened to these two songs while creating this strip, so I felt they deserved to make the final cut. I needed them to get into that "I'm outta here" mode. :D

Just got caught up. I've been out of the loop for a few days and got behind but the catching up was worth it. I'm sure you have heard the news that "The Guiding Light" has gone off the air. With this good stuff you are writin' if the little old ladies who used to watch that would discover it you would be a national hit. I can just imagine millions of little bluehaired ladies sitting at their computers and reading your strip and then talking to their friends as if the characters were real people. ( I know that's what I do.)

    • GeorgeFord says:

I didn't know Guiding Light was over. I've been a victim of the forced viewing of that show since 1975. Maybe I should try to get in on that serial drama market share. :D

Jovial Jack? He sounds positively dangerous.

Hey guards, there's more than one hole. Check out the perimeter wall.

    • GeorgeFord says:

Well, maybe if they repair that first hole, the warden won't think to notice the hole in the outside wall. :)

"Jovial" Jack is not a man to be trifled with. xD

  7. KFC … *err argh nom nom nom*! :)

  8. GeorgeFord says:

It's at least worth a try. Maybe Jack can find redemption that way. :)

  9. Midwestmom73 says:

Looking forward to how this plays out. :-)

  10. Im thinking a lot more inmates are going to escape from that big hole by using the one in the wall. Both songs are great choices! I voted for the poor guy to be free too, just to see what kind of havoc he could wreak on society.

    • GeorgeFord says:

Oh, Jack's not done yet, by any means. We may not hear from him for a little while, but the citizens of Addanac City will certainly be discussing their most famous escaped prisoner for quite some time to come. :D
