Calethia’s Conclusion

Calethia’s Conclusion

It was a real treat creating today’s comic. I wanted to find a way to resolve Calethia‘s dilemma and give her a graceful way out. Her conclusion called for a multi-tier comic and this is the result.

Jack has officially left the building, but this most definitely will not be the last time you’ll see him. He’ll make sporadic appearances throughout the next month or so as we find out where his travels have taken him. But, in the meantime, we’re gonna get back to Hank and the other AC citizens.

I’m currently working on a cool Hallowe’en storyline that I hope you’ll love. I’ve got some stuff featuring Ren Murphy coming up, too. Also, my 400th ADDANAC CITY comic strip comes out next month. Annnd, I’ve got a couple of special guests rolling thru soon and Hank’s gonna be showing up in several other webcomics.

Whew! Sounds like a full-plate, huh? It’s just another day in ADDANAC CITY. So stay tuned and witness how Jack’s jailbreak will affect the City and what impact it will have on Hank in particular. :)

If you’re new to this storyline (where have you been?!!), start here and work your way forward.

  1. What a great ending to Jack's dilemma. I was glad to see him free, and I'm gald Calethia didn't shoot him like she should have. The fact that he's running around naked is scary though!

I love the drama in this strip. Well done

What a graceful exit! Very nice! Can't wait to see where he ends up next. :)

George, I applaud your comic mastery! My favourite line is in Panel 9 "most of it's real…"! And Panel 7 is a stroke of genius. Even without dialogue, it conveys the absurdity of the whole situation. Gotta love that exaggerated pose. I have to say I will miss the back-and-forth discourse between Jack and Calethia, easily some of the best lines in AC. These 2 really bounce off each other perfectly. Based on real life conversations between you and the missus? Lol…

    • GeorgeFord says:

Naw, the missus doesn't talk to me. :)

I like conversations. I've written a few plays where I get to work on dialogue and such. I don't get a chance to do that often in AC unless it's one of these mega-strips. I think Jack and Calethia had a good dichotomy going. We'll see both of them again in the future. Maybe real soon for Calethia. :)

And our "hero" rides off into the sunset… but naked and free… as he should be!

    • GeorgeFord says:

I'm just glad Jack decided to get rid of that tell-tale orange jumpsuit. He already pushed his luck while wearing it at that chicken shack earlier. He needs to be a bit more incognito if he wants to stay free.

Ha! Awesome job on this jumbo comic! You should have posted sad violin music as the Grooveshark widget, because that's what I imagined in the background during Jack's monologue.

And running away naked into the sunset- is there any better symbol of freedom?

    • GeorgeFord says:

I couldn't find the right music for this one. I kept imagining sad violins, too. I think this strip turned out nicely. It had the right amount of melancholy mixed with stupidity. I was starting to really miss having these two together. I almost hate to see them part. :'(

  7. David says:

That Jack…he sure knows how to make an exit! Well done, George!

  8. Hahaha – the Klondike is pretty amazing at this time of year! :)

  9. GeorgeFord says:

Thanks, Bo! Maybe Jack can also find a nice class ring, too. :D

  10. I guess he really is free… VERY free….. (Naked and all…)

  11. John k. says:

I can’t decide if Jack is an idiot or a genius…

  12. Aww is jack ever coming . I've got to catch up man! Still hella funny though Georgie! :)

  13. Dave says:

Very nice storyline George. I enjoyed it. Can't wait to see where Jack pops up.

  14. Bearman says:

Darn is it too late for her to put a cap in his butt?

  15. jynksie says:

It takes me almost 2 weeks to draw a house and here you are mastering 7 comics a week, sometimes in triplicate!! — Excellent work w/ this strip George!
