Welcome to the start of the ADDANAC CITY Christmas 2009 storyline! I’m gonna have some fun with this story. There will be a main tale with a few sub-plots thrown in for good measure. Hopefully, I can have it all wrapped up by Christmas Day (boy, do I hate deadlines).
Today we get to meet Santa and his HEIC (Head Elf In Charge), Emil. I’ve always liked the idea of having Mr. Claus appear more CEO-like. You’ll see more of him and Emil (as well as other Christmas characters) as the story unravels. And, of course, Hank will be here. I hope he can learn how to behave this year.

I think there is a story there as to why the town is named after the Addanacs and neither hank or his father are living up to the Addanac name.
After New Year's, I'll get into the Origin of ADDANAC CITY and why Hank's family shares the name. It's pretty interesting (at least to me), and it's a story that's never been told before here.
Panel 7 is wicked funny… By the way Christmas is still a long way off so this is gonna be one huuuuge storyline!
Christmas is a long way and I'm still not sure how I'm gonna get this tale told by the 25th. Whoo, the pressure.
Anyway, there will be other Christmas-related strips interspersed throughout the next few weeks also. Hank's gonna be doing his thing while Santa searches for him. Santa also enlists some help on Wednesday. It'll be fun to see who it's gonna be.
Hahahaha I burst out laughing at, "he's been naughty eight years running. he's only seven!" Awesome.
Thanks, John! I thought that would be a funny line. It goes to show that Hank really is "a bad seed".
Superb! – will Santa really get the better of Hank though?
Santa's sure as heck gonna try.
Angry Santa comin at cha’
We will learn very soon that Santa is not one to be trifled with.
Look out Hank? I believe you are trying to trick us into underestimating the little feller. My thought was look out Santa.
Say, do you know this Hank kid or something?
I hope Santa doesn't get too overconfident myself.
I've told you. I was this Hank kid growing up so maybe there is some hope for Hank yet.
Hank needs all the hope he can get, Bo.
OOh, will the reindeers have uzi's?
I dunno, but there will be a reindeer showing up Wednesday.
This looks like it's going to be great fun! Can't wait.
I dunno who it's gonna be fun for. Us, certainly. But as far as Santa and Hank are concerned, we'll just have to see.
Here's hoping Mrs. Claus makes an appearance!
I'll have to look into that for you, Sandy! ^_^
Do you suppose these elven dudes are responsible for all those urinals that are buried about a foot into the floor?! =/
They must be, cuz if I have to end up peeing on my shoes anyway, I may as well go outside.
Santa's a big guy! I feel sorry for Hank. This could get ugly…
I don't know if Santa's big enough to tangle with Hank.
Wow, Santa's a bad ass! I can't wait to see Ms. Claus!
It takes a strong woman to put up with a guy like Santa all those years. I'm sure she'll be making an appearance before it's all said and done.
This is gonna be good! :*
I aim for it to be, Babe! <3
My guess, based on your page header:
Santa has some problems with his live-in boyfriend, Rudy, who doesn’t like the sweaters Santa keeps giving him for Christmas and Rudy hires Starky and Hutch to investigate is it’s because he’s been too naughty or not naughty enough. When Starky and hutch arrive, Hank mistakenly assumes they are the Dukes of Hazzard and attacks them with snowballs. That results in a misfired shot and Santa gets killed by a stray bullet, Rudy inherits the company and that’s the end of christmas as we know it…
They do sorta look like a discount Starsky and Hutch, don't they?
You're close with your summation, though. Maybe I'll do it your way.
Once again, the hilarious dialogue is what makes this comic series so great; most other comic strips have dialogue which only builds up to the "final panel punch-line", but here we have lots of good one-liners to enjoy along the way. Good job, George.
…and I don't know what naughty behavior Hank did in the womb, but that's a comic for another day.
Thanks, DH! Ask my wife and kids, I constantly think and speak in one-liners. I'm glad I have an outlet for it besides divorce court.
oh-my-GAWD! …. I LOVE IT!!! *pulls up chair, makes popcorn and waits for the next one!*
Thanks, Jynksie! This should be decent.
Hank is a world-class misbehaving idiot. At least, that's what it says on his business cards.
I don't know how much this Santa knows, but he's sure going prepared.
