ADDANAC CITY: An Alternate Reality?

Wow! I just got an email with this awesome artwork attached. Speearr is the phenomenal creator of Terence N. Tijuana, an expertly-crafted, hilarious sci-fi webcomic epic.

Personally, it gives me the feeling that there truly is an ADDANAC CITY out there somewhere in an alternate reality. I love his rendition of Hank and his mom, Mrs. Addanac. The evil expression on Hank’s face speaks volumes of his tendency to misbehave and pull sporadic acts of chicanery.

And Mrs. A? She looks like she realizes what a little monster her son is, but she loves him nonetheless. I really dig this piece. The background scene with the dimensional vortex hole makes me think that Hank may soon be coming to a universe near us. Oh, the foreboding….:)

Thanks a lot, Speearr, for this excellent work of art. C’mon, folks, go check out Terence N. Tijuana and show some love for the guy who makes intricately-drawn spaceships seem as simple as Lego blocks.

Mrs. Addanac Hooks Up With The Comic Creator’s Alliance Project

Mrs. Addanac~ the classiest lady in webcomics

Recently I participated in a project that that Comic Creator’s Alliance was spearheading. They were looking for strong female characters from many popular webcomics and comic book series to be featured in a wallpaper that hopefully will generate donations for its cause.

I wanted to be a part of this venture, so I contacted Lora Innes of The Dreamer webcomic (she’s running the show). I volunteered to draw a picture of my favorite female from my ADDANAC CITY comic series: Mrs. Addanac, who is Hank’s mom. Check out my contribution to this cool project. Mrs. A is gonna be incorporated into the wallpaper design with over eighty other female comic characters. It should look very nice, so i hope you can donate to the cause that is described in Lora’s blog below:

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
-Margaret Mead

Monday, January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. To participate, we formed the Comic Creator’s Alliance–a group of over eighty comic book creators (both web and print) who volunteered our artistic talents to raise money and awareness for this cause. You may not know it, but there are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year. Unlike slavery in the 19th century, what is happening today is happening in secret. So it won’t end until awareness is raised, and people like you and me take a stand.

So here’s what we did: each creator contributed an original drawing of one of our own female characters, and combined them into a single wallpaper image. The wallpaper features characters from The Phoenix Requiem, Girls with Slingshots, Earthsong, Looking for Group, Shadowgirls, Marsh Rocket, The Uniques and three IDW Publishing titles: Fallen Angel, The Dreamland Chronicles and The Dreamer, and lots, lots more! Donate today to download this unique, once-in-a-lifetime wallpaper. The Donations Drive will last for two weeks, from January 11th – 24th. All proceeds will be split evenly between Love146 and Gracehaven House- two organizations working on rehabilitation of victims and prevention of this crime.
