I used to enjoy drawing superhero-type art, but I haven’t taken the opportunity to do any in a while. This was my chance to write a little story and draw Hank the way he perceives himself: a roguishly handsome, muscular hero.
Also, I loved Watterson’s old Spaceman Spiff tales, so this is kind of a nod to those.
NEWS ITEM: Addanac City’s 500th comic strip comes out this Friday, Februaury 19th! It’s a quadruple-sized extravaganza, so be sure not to miss it. And spread the word!

I like superheroes too but I don't have the skills.
Nice action pose on Hank!
That used to be the only kinda stuff I would draw, but it's been a while so I'm rusty right now. I thought the first panel turned out okay, though.
All right—what kind of a fight are Mr. and Mrs. A having that results in him sleeping on the couch?
Mr.A's just taking an afternoon nap Dagwood Bumstead-style. Hank's the one causing havoc.
That is kinda cool. I used to think of myself as Clint Eastwood.

For some reason, I was always Bo Duke.
Actually sometimes it is hard to know who is the hero and who is the villan. All three panels were great. I wanna be just like you when I grow up.

I'll never grow up, Bo. It's not in my jeans.
Congratulations on the forthcoming #500!
This definitely takes Spaceman Spiff to the next level, I don't remember seeing Calvin wielding a nunchuck and katana, but I'm sure he would've like to!

Thank you! I loved those Spaceman Spiff tales. It's amusing to see how kids' imaginations work.
Wow. Spaceman Spiff didn't use a knife though! Looks like he'll be waking up to a nightmare

Hank's a tad more inventive. And destructive.
Those nunchucks look an awful lot like a pair I constructed as a kid (with a couple of my mother’s hair rollers and some yarn). Looks like Hanks got much better moves than I did, though!
Man, I should'a tried that. All I eve did was try to make a phone out of my mom's rollers.
Take no prisoners, comrade!
There will be Hank to pay!!!!
Hank doesn't think much of his dad, does he?
…and don't worry; I think nearly ALL comic artists borrow from Bill Watterson!
Hank loves his dad almost as much as he loves messin' with him.
Reminiscent of the Dick Tracy strips from Watterson, it was odd seeing an older Calvin in suit and hat… but intriguing!

I loved those type of strips. When I read Archie I loved seeing the what-if stories and the ones with Little Archie.
It looks great!

Thank you very much!
I don't see why the boy just can't do a crossword puzzle for entertainment.
