The Slow And The Furious

The Slow And The Furious

I tried to stretch my skills as well as have fun with today’s strip. I hate drawing exterior scenes, but I’ve been berated instructed by some of the greatest artists around that those are establishing shots, and I truly wanna get better at improving my craft, so I thought I’d give it a try.

You can see the results in the second panel. I love Google images as a reference tool because I had no idea what a Toyota Prius really looked like. I tried to keep it somewhat accurate, although I do see room for improvement.

Also, I wanted to switch up the way I would normally convey an automobile interior. I usually draw it from a straight-on perspective, sorta how you see it in the first panel, but I wanted to try something different. One of the best scenes I’ve run across was executed by artist extraordinaire, Chris Watkins, of the webcomic series, Odori Park. He drew a car-interior scene that looked pretty much like my third panel only better. “I emulate you cuz you’re a perfeshunal, Chris!”

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed today’s behind-the-scenes/ George-can’t-draw-for-$%#@ expose. There’ll be more to come as I
get off my lazy @$$ continue progressing as an artist. :)

I sincerely hope you’ll join me this Monday (right after our infamous Sneak-In Weekend of historically classic AC comics) for a super-duper-sized continuation of our current story-arc. Jack and Lloyd have made it to the Go Nuts Donut Shop, but will they make it back out?

Find out Monday, Dear Readers. I have a few more bombshells for ya. :)
