OUR STORY THUS FAR: While hiding out in Canada, escaped convict Jack Addanac, was approached by the mysterious Voodoo Lady who, while having more than a passing interest in his family, has forcibly hired him to assassinate the state governor. Why remains to be seen.

All Jack knows is that he’s being led on a dangerous race towards a finish line that spells impending doom for someone. What’s to be determined is whose doom it is: The Governor’s or Jack’s?

While awaiting his next set of instructions at a former friend’s home, Jack enlists her insensitive ex-boyfriend’s help in taking the next dangerous step along the path to purgatory. This next series of instructions has brought Jack and his hostile accomplice to the Go Nuts Donut Shop in Addanac City. What peril does Jack face now?

If Vince, the gangster working behind the Donut Shop counter in today’s comic seem familiar, that’s because you’ve seen him before in this series. Vince was one of the loan sharks who tried to loan a hundred thousand dollars to Jack‘s nephew Hank to bail him out of prison a few years ago. Vince was also present when Hank and his crew returned from time-traveling in the classic Hard Time: The Life and Legend of the Boll Weevil storyline.
