I met creator, David Barrentine, a few months ago on Facebook. We began communicating with a bit of regularity and discovered that we had quite a few things in common (besides being heavy-duty comic-heads who have lovely, tolerating wives).
David and I quickly became avid readers of each other’s webcomic series, his being the video-game/pop-culture-centered Batteries Also Included. We started joking around that we should exchange guest strips if we liked each other’s characters and universes that much.
Well, lo and behold, here is David‘s amazing guest comic. I love his take on Hank. Even my wife said that Hank looks all adorable and cuddly when David draws him. Even though I know how volatile and unrestrained Hank can be, I had to agree with her.
That look on Hank‘s face in the first panel gets me every time I look at it. I’m beginning to see why the children and townsfolk set themselves up for failure by falling for his schemes over and over again.
So, after you read this comic, head on over to Batteries Also Included and see what other comedic, webcomic offerings David Barrentine has ready to serve up to you. Also, be on the lookout for my guest strip on his site any day now. I’ll keep ya informed.

I'll help with the Informing. Look for George's guest strip due up Thursday. I update my comics Mondays and Thursdays with a few different things to fill the gap the rest of the week.
Great strip. The look might be different but Hank's reasoning is the same.
Hank has a very unique perspective on nearly everything.
Unique is about as nice a way of puttin it as you could.
I figured reprehensible didn't sound as nice.
espeacially with such a pretty little face. Gatorhead, thanks for the compliment. I seriously thought long and hard about this one. I wanted to make George proud to show it off.
An I am indeed. Hank looks like he'd hug you right before he stabbed you in the ey with a magic marker.
Yay! I really enjoyed this guest strip exchange, David. We each have two diverse worlds, but I think that both of them are hilarious. You did a great job on today's comic, man.
Thanks, man. We should definitely do this again some time. It would be so fetch. I'm looking forward to the reaction I get from your tomorrow.
Congratulations on this guest strip. You really got Hank's attitude down very well.
Thanks, Bill! I really enjoyed this one, too.
I've been reading a lot of Addanac City recently so I felt I had enough of a grasp that I could pull this off. Now that the gloating is done. I really did know how well it came out and was kind of worried how it would be accepted. Glad people are liking it for sure.
I hope it goes over well.
I believe it fits in nicely with the basic canon of Addanac City. It feels natural and true-to-spirit.
Yep. Hank by any other name… er, artist… is still a Hank! You definitely got him. :`)
Thanks, Jande! David really captured Hank's essence well.
Great strip! Did you write the strip then have David draw it?
David did everything: the writing, drawing, and coloring.
I had a few options I wanted to play with initially from a couple comments I've seen in the threads on the site: We need teenagers and cops don't want custody of Hank. But I kind of got struck with this one because I wanted one where I could draw one of Hank's parents in there as well instead of just a random character.
I dig the way you portrayed Simone. Nice work!
Nice guest comic! I'll have to check out David's comic.
If you like Pop culture and gaming related jokes, I think you'll like it.
Definitely give it a chance, David!
Great job David.
I figured Hank would have said something about not wanting to cause the teacher a seizure by actually turning in his work. haa
Hahaha! That could have worked too.
No he felt the need to show off his civics knowledge. He nailed that fifth amendment.
Hank had a physical makeover. Now if he could get a mental makeover. . .
Hank is about as mental as you can get already.
I love a good guest comic. I look forward to seeing what George comes up with!
Great job, David!
Thanks, Tim. Be sure to check out my guest comic for David's site tomorrow!
Gonna be the grossest thing you see all week. Garunteedy. Why yes, that is spelled phonetically.
Nice! I like the look of this one!
Thanks, Tony. If you want to check out more of my work, feel free to check out http://www.batteriesalsoincluded.com
Nice work David. Those ammendments sure can come in handy. I wonder if there's one I can use next time my wife says it's my turn to wash the dishes???
Amendment 9 subsection b dash 12: For fear of furniture removal from random recliner theives, the man of the household is required by federal law to maintain a constant and vigilant proxemity to said recliner during the time periods which he is permitted. Layman's terms: Man's spot is in his recliner for fear of losing his seat.
Great work & thanks a lot. I'll try & memorize this amendment for the next time I need to claim it.
cool style!
Thanks, Nancy! I think it really suits the strip in this case.
