Guest Fan Art by Zack Hix of “Good Boy Roy”

While searching on Facebook for some new and familiar artists, cartoonists, and craftspeople, I ran into a young man named Zack Hix. He’s only fifteen years old, but he’s about his business and he’s already started a clothing line for kids while simultaneously expanding his art skills considerably.

Zack and I corresponded back and forth for awhile and I suggest that if he got some free time and if he felt like it, could he create some ADDANAC CITY Fan Art for me. In about a day or so, I received an email with the pic you see above. Tremendous thanks go out to you, Zack! Keep up the great work.

And as far as the rest of you guys are concerned, go check out Zack’s clothing line, Good Boy Roy. He has quite a few clever designs in his repertoire. :)

Back In Business

Whew! That was an amazing working vacation. After finishing up with my multi-month epic story “Hard Time: The Life and Legend of the Boll Weevil”, I needed to step back and take a teeny-tiny break. I am extremely fortunate that so many fine and talented cartoonists came out to give me a hand while I sipped Mai Tai’s by a drainage ditch in a stolen RV. Life doesn’t get any better than that. :)

Great minds think alike...

So, lemme give a humongous shout-out to these folks. I am forever in your debt (well, until next Tuesday, at least). j/k :)

During my “break”, I’ve been working on a gang of new AC comics for you all. I hope you like what I have in store for the near future. My return on Thursday will bring not one, but two ADDANAC CITY comic strips for your reading pleasure. I’m following that up with Friday‘s double-sized Halloween comic, and this weekend will feature two classic AC trick-or-treats.

And on Monday, we shall witness how Hank plans to integrate himself back into AC society after his five-month long absence. What do his friends think? Will is parents buy his story? How about the teachers? And we’ll also get to see what ol’ Uncle Jack is up to these days. I have some cool things planned for him in the future too.

So, stick around and see what’s gonna transpire in AC these days. You won’t wanna miss a second of it. :)

AC Fan Art by Thadyus Thaxton of South Boston, VA

This recent piece of ADDANAC CITY Fan Art was created by a great guy, Thadyus Thaxton, who’s from my hometown even though we had never gotten in touch until I was three thousand miles away. We’ve been corresponding back and forth via Facebook, and since Thadyus is a cartoonist, I asked if he would design something I could put up on the site. He didn’t hesitate an iota of a second. Before I knew it, this baby arrived in my email box. I would like to share Thadyus’ talent with you all. If you get a chance, check out some of his other works of art.

Thanks again, Thadyus! And the next time I’m home, we’re gonna have to bump heads and catch up! :)

New ADDANAC CITY Fan Art!

This neat-o rendition of Hank was sent to me by my friend, Leslita! We both majored in art and attended the same college, Virginia State University (although I believe I had graduated before her freshman year began).

She and I have been pals since the days when it was fashionable to actually have a MySpace profile, and we’ve been cool ever since. I hope to get her to do more things to showcase her artistic talent in the future.

Thanks for the pic, L! :D
